Flood exposure

Description

  • Exposure map of the coastal area to flooding modulated on the social / economic value of the elements at risk of flooding or flooding in the coastal area considered, including storm surges.
  • Key information: Land Use Map and DEM
  • Each land use polygon is associated with an exposure value linked to the class it belongs to and the population density. This is then weighed on the basis of the morphological characteristics of the area on which it stands, in particular the elevation and slope and the “hydraulic hazard” (layer created by ISPRA at national level).

Example

Exposure map of the coastal area with flooding modulated on the social / economic value of the elements at risk of floods, storm surges or floods in the coastal area of Petacciato. The map is obtained starting from a Land Use Map and a Contemporary Coastline Map and using the following ancillary data: DEM, Hydraulic Hazard Areas (ISPRA) – Population Density (GEOSTAT)
